If you’re considering becoming an Uber driver, NOW is the time!

The referral bonus for new Uber drivers has traditionally been lower, at $50, but for a limited time, Uber has increased the sign-up bonus and or guarantees to $1,250 in many cities!  

Important Distinction: Uber is now offering either a bonus or a guarantee.  Read the fine print so you know what you are signing up for:

Bonus:  This would be paid to you after achieving a certain number of rides.  For example, drive 100 trips and earn a bonus of $500.

Guarantee:  This would pay you a guaranteed amount for a certain number of rides.  For example, let say the guarantee is $750 for 100 trips.  If you drive 100 trips and earn only $500, then Uber would pay you an additional $250 so that you earned a total of $750.  If, however, you earned $800 during your first 100 rides, then Uber would not pay you any additional revenue. 

The bonuses vary by city, so it may be more or less in certain cities. It’s very easy to get started, and there are only a few steps you need to take to get paid your bonus:

  • Upload all required documents to their partner dashboard right away
  • Get vehicle inspected
  • Complete the required number of trips (currently 100).  Easy to do.

The procedure is very similar.  The procedure is the same except instead of taking your car to an inspection facility, a mentor for Lyft will come to you and inspect your car and talk to you about driving for Lyft.
